Neuromuscular testing is essentially any test that evaluates how particular muscles and nerves in the body are working in relation to each other, the bones, and the joints they are attached to. In the case of TMJ, the muscles that are responsible for the movement of the temporomandibular joint cannot relax or rest as they should due to a misalignment of the jawbone or teeth.
