Improve Your Smile * Improve Your Life
Dental bonding can be used to help correct and restore damaged teeth and to enhance the look of your smile. It works through adhering a durable resin to your teeth where they are damaged or chipped. This resin is custom made to match the color of your teeth and can be molded into the tooth’s natural shape.
If you have many teeth or a large area that needs bonding, the dental bonding process is different than that of a minor cosmetic dental bonding procedure.
A tooth bonding procedure begins with an initial consultation with Dr. Bufo.
During your consultation, you will be able to discuss what teeth you would like to have bonded, and Dr. Bufo will be able to answer any questions you may have, as well as give you an idea of what to expect.
The tooth bonding begins with etching the surface of the tooth that the tooth bonding will be applied to. By etching the tooth, the bonding will better hold, and be less likely to chip or break. Then, the tooth bonding will be applied in several layers. After each layer, Dr. Bufo will harden, or cure, the tooth bonding with a special ultraviolet light. After the tooth bonding has been applied, Dr. Bufo will shape and polish the tooth bonding so that it perfectly matches the rest of your teeth.
